The Alaska Museum
This project is a fictional rebrand for the Alaska Museum of Science and Nature, a museum exploring Alaska’s natural history with dinosaur fossils and hands-on displays for kids. Not wanting to depart to far from the original branding, I updated and simplified the logo to give it a much needed refresh while staying relevant with the brand’s objective.
The Alaska Museum strives to be educational, stimulating, and fun – my choice of color and shape intentionally lends itself to the brand personality. Wanting to capture the warmth of the original logo, I chose red for it’s eye catching and energizing appeal. Children are especially drawn to vibrant colors, and the museum caters largely to school groups. The roundness of the logo lends itself to marketing collateral and merchandise appropriate for that age group, including buttons, stickers, stamps, erasers, and other related materials.
